This resort must be the most famous among those who wants to visit Padre Burgos, Quezon.

We also saw this resort through a travel blog. And since we have a toddler with us, we’ve decided to book a room instead of “camping” in the island itself.

The Tamarind Tree Resort

Our family stayed at Tamarind Tree Resort, it is the only beachfront resort near the islands as per the resort representative. But there are other resorts available or you can bring your tent or rent one in the islands if your opt for an adventure. But I think you should bring mosquito repellent, flashlight and portable fan if you’ll consider camping.

Sharing with you what we love in Tamarind Tree Resort:

“Barrio Experience”

We had a a sweet sleep in a simple Bahay Kubo, what a great “Barrio Experience”, you can even hear the sound of “kuliglig” in the evening.

Huge Parking Space 🙂

We booked for a beachside room, its a small bahay kubo (airconditioned) room but no bed frame and TV.

(the deluxe room has TV and bed frame.)

Hospitable and Friendly Staff 

Ate Joy and Kuya Allan are very accommodating and friendly, I even had a short “kwentuhan” with Kuya Allan, surprised that he once worked near our place. WOW! Small World!

“Peek-a-BOO!”We went to (3) three islands:

Food Taste and Serving Size

We availed their meal package (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) for only Php 1,200 good for two pax already.

But our meal served the three of us. We enjoyed our meal especially the dinner they served us “Fresh Alimasag, Enseladang Talong and BBQ”

“Kutsinta” as breakfast dessert.. YUM!

Before I forget, they have a swimming pool in the resort. In case you don’t want to swim in the beach in front of the resort. You can still have a short dip in their pool before heading to the islands.

Convenience

The resort arranged our boat transfer or the island hopping.. Kuya Edgar arrived early at the resort and even waited for us until we finished our breakfast.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Directions by private car:

From Manila, take South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). Exit at Sto. Tomas, Batangas via Star Tollway.

First town in Quezon is Tiaong, then Candelaria, Sariaya and Lucena City. After Lucena comes Pagbilao. Continue on the National Highway, until you see the sign “Quezon National Agricultural School (QNAS)” on your left [This school has been renamed TESDA]. The road splits right after TESDA. If you go straight, you will reach Atimonan and Mauban. To go to the Tamarind Tree Resort, turn right at the fork where the arch above says “Welcome to Bondoc Peninsula.”

Continue for about 15 to 20 minutes, until the road splits again. Turn left this time. You have now entered the Poblacion of Padre Burgos.

Continue for about two minutes until you see an old, white house. Make a right, go uphill. Continue until you get a view of the sea. Turn right where you will see the entrance of The Tamarind Tree and glimpse a view of the Club House. You are now in Barangay Punta. Buzz the doorbell for the guard.

If for some reason, you reach Agdangan or even Unisan, turn back. You have overshot Padre Burgos.

Directions by public transportation:

By public transport, you need to take a bus going to Lucena City (Grand Terminal).

Depending where you are coming from, you can get the bus from Cubao, Pasay (Buendia) or Alabang. Get off at Lucena Grand Terminal. From there, you can take a bus or FX to Unisan or a jeep to Padre Burgos.

Ask the bus conductor or jeepney driver to drop you off at Padre Burgos town proper. Get off in front of QCRB Rural Bank in Padre Burgos.

You can take a tricycle to Barangay Punta (P15 each) or walk towards Barangay Punta. You will see our sign along the way.
